Clandestine

Exhibition and graphic design

Cobra Museum of Modern Art, Amstelveen, 2021

The human body is the central theme of the Clandestine photo exhibition. About a hundred black-and-white photographs express an unreserved love of the body in all its manifestations: perfect, imperfect, elegant, erotic, proud or, on the contrary, very vulnerable. The works come from the Pedro Slim collection of and showcase the subculture scene around the world and in particular in New York City in the 80's and 90's. For the design of the exhibition, next to distributing the photos and themes through space and using large typography on the walls, I asked graffiti artists to recreate the streets of New York on the museum walls and in that way give visitors a little taste of how life was then.
